Artifacts are the FXServer build your server runs on. Escrow-protected scripts need a recent build, so old artifacts are a common cause of errors (see Common Errors). Type version in the server console to see the build you run now.
Use the LATEST RECOMMENDED build. Newer builds are created by the community and can be faulty.
1

Stop the server

Stop your server and make a backup of your artifacts folder (the folder with FXServer.exe on Windows, or run.sh on Linux).
2

Download the new build

Open the artifacts page for your system and click the LATEST RECOMMENDED button:
3

Replace the old files

Windows: extract server.7z into your artifacts folder and overwrite the existing files.Linux: copy fx.tar.xz into your artifacts folder and extract it there:
Only replace the artifacts folder. Your server-data folder (resources and server.cfg) stays as it is.
4

Start the server

Start the server the same way as before and type version in the console to check the new build number.
