# Business Register

A public directory of player businesses. Players register a company for a fee and manage their own entries.

```lua theme={null}
Config.Business = {
    fee          = 5000,   -- taken from Config.MoneyAccount, 0 = free
    maxPerPlayer = 3,      -- active businesses per player
    categories   = { 'Retail', 'Food & Drink', 'Automotive', 'Services',
                     'Entertainment', 'Real Estate', 'Transport', 'Other' },
}
```

* The server validates names (3–40 characters, unique), categories and phone numbers.
* Owners can edit or close their businesses. Closing doesn't refund the fee.
* With the [Government Portal](https://docs.aps-store.com/assets/aps_cityhall/guides/government-portal.md), new registrations can require approval first.
* The table `aps_businesses` is created automatically.

Owners open *My Businesses → Manage…* for permits, vehicles, employees and the certificate. Employees see the business there too (read-only) and can quit.

## Permits

Licenses a business can hold — alcohol, tobacco, transport, food hygiene, or your own. Players see the valid ones in the directory, and other scripts check them with the [exports](https://docs.aps-store.com/assets/aps_cityhall/developer-api/server-exports.md).

```lua theme={null}
Config.Business.permits = {
    alcohol = {
        label            = 'Alcohol License',
        description      = 'Sell and serve alcoholic drinks.',
        categories       = { 'Food & Drink', 'Retail', 'Entertainment' },   -- nil = every category
        review           = true,          -- the Government Portal must approve (also renewals)
        requiresLicenses = nil,           -- e.g. { 'car' } — City Hall licenses the owner needs
        options = {
            { label = '30 Days', days = 30,  price = 5000 },
            { label = '1 Year',  days = 365, price = 45000 },
        },
    },
    transport = { label = 'Transport License', categories = { 'Transport' }, review = true,
                  requiresLicenses = { 'car' }, options = { … } },
}
```

* `review = false` grants the permit as soon as it's paid. With `review = true` the application waits in the portal under *Permit applications*; a rejection refunds by `Config.Government.businesses.refundOnReject`. Without the Government module every permit is granted on payment.
* Renewing while the permit is still valid adds the days on top of the current expiry.
* Staff with `businesses.manage` can revoke a permit. Closing a business ends all of its permits.

## Business vehicles

```lua theme={null}
Config.Business.vehicles = {
    enabled        = true,
    fee            = 500,     -- per vehicle
    maxPerBusiness = 10,
    setJobColumn   = true,    -- also write the business's linked job into the vehicle
    jobColumn      = 'job',   -- column in owned_vehicles (exists on ESX)
}
```

* The owner registers vehicles they own. They stay in the owner's garage tables and show as business vehicles in the Vehicle Registry and the portal.
* When the government links the business to a job (portal → *Open record → Job link*, e.g. `taxi`), registered vehicles get that job in `owned_vehicles.job`, so job garages see them. Removing the vehicle, unlinking the job or closing the business clears it again.
* QBCore's `player_vehicles` has no job column by default; the console says so and the link is skipped.
* Vehicles the owner sells or deletes drop out of the business automatically.

## Employees & certificate

```lua theme={null}
Config.Business.employees   = { enabled = true, maxPerBusiness = 15, maxDistance = 10.0 }
Config.Business.certificate = { enabled = true, item = 'business_certificate', price = 100 }
```

* The owner adds employees by their player ID — the player must stand within `maxDistance` — and can remove them. Employees count for `playerHasPermit` and `isBusinessEmployee`.
* The certificate is an inventory item with the business name, owner, category and valid permits (ox\_inventory metadata). Add the item to your inventory first.
