# FAQ

Answers to the questions we get most often. Can't find yours? Contact us on our Discord.

> [accordion] Do I have to use all modules?
>
> No. Every module has a flag in `Config.Features` ([config.lua](https://docs.aps-store.com/assets/aps_cityhall/configuration-files/config.lua.md)). Set it to `false` and its app disappears from the PC and its server code is not loaded. Built-in apps like Paint or the Media Player are switched off in `Config.DesktopApps`.

> [accordion] Do I need to import the SQL file?
>
> No. Every table is created and upgraded automatically on start. `sql/aps_cityhall.sql` is only for servers that prefer to create tables themselves. Items (and the optional `government` job) still have to be added, see [Installation](https://docs.aps-store.com/assets/aps_cityhall/installation.md).

> [accordion] Which frameworks are supported?
>
> ESX Legacy 1.9+, QBCore and Qbox, detected automatically (`Config.Framework = 'auto'`). Everything framework-specific is in `bridge/`, which stays editable, so other frameworks can be added.

> [accordion] Can I replace vms\_cityhall with it?
>
> Yes. Set `Config.Compat.vmsCityhall = true` and scripts that call `exports['vms_cityhall']` (bills, insurance, taxes, licenses, VIN, SSN, paychecks, resumes) are answered by aps\_cityhall. Some vms scripts check `GetResourceState('vms_cityhall')` first. See [Compability](https://docs.aps-store.com/assets/aps_cityhall/compability.md).

> [accordion] Can players open the PC from anywhere?
>
> Only if you want them to: enable `Config.Command`, or open it from your own script with the server export `openCityHall(source)` (e.g. a laptop item). Otherwise paid actions only work at a City Hall. See [config.server.lua → Security](https://docs.aps-store.com/assets/aps_cityhall/configuration-files/config.server.lua.md).

> [accordion] Can I add more City Hall locations?
>
> Yes. Add entries to `Config.Locations`. Each one spawns a clerk and (optionally) a blip.

> [accordion] Do I need a document script?
>
> No. Documents are built in: real items with serial number, photo, signature and a card that is shown to nearby players. If vms\_documentsv2 is running, City Hall can issue documents through it instead (`Config.DocumentSystem.system`).

> [accordion] Where are the players' files and desktop settings stored?
>
> In the player's own NUI storage (about 5 MB per player), not in your database. They stay on the player's computer between sessions.

> [accordion] Can I translate the script?
>
> Yes, completely. English and German are included. See [Localization](https://docs.aps-store.com/assets/aps_cityhall/guides/localization.md).

> [accordion] Can I edit the UI?
>
> The interface ships compiled, but names, screen size, apps, default look, texts, currency and item icons are configurable. See [Customizing the UI](https://docs.aps-store.com/assets/aps_cityhall/guides/customizing-the-ui.md).

> [accordion] Is the phone app able to pay bills?
>
> No, by design. The phone app only shows an overview and sets a waypoint, so players still have a reason to visit City Hall.
