# Cards

> Bank cards in aps_banking: card tiers, PIN handling, locking after wrong PINs, card settings, the per-account limit and stolen card use.

Card settings live in `config/cards.lua`. Cards are created in the Your Cards column on the Overview, Shared and Society pages, and the price is taken from the account. Savings accounts have no cards.

## Tiers

`style` picks the look of the card: `brand` (follows `Config.Branding.accent`), `ice`, `graphite` or `gold`.

## PIN

PINs are stored salted and hashed and never leave the server. Attempts are counted on the card, so reconnecting doesn't reset them. After `maxAttempts` wrong PINs the card locks. The holder or the account owner can unlock it in the Your Cards column.

## Managing a card

The gear icon opens the card settings: change the PIN, block or unblock, print a new physical card for `reprintPrice`, or delete it.

`maxPerAccount` limits the cards per account.

## Stolen cards

With an inventory that has item metadata, whoever carries a card can try it at an ATM, but needs the PIN. With `enabled = false` a card only works for its holder.
